Bedford schools has contract with mechanics

The Bedford Board of Education and the district’s four mechanics have a new contract that calls for wage increases over three years if the school system is out of deficit and has a specified audited budget surplus each year.

Under the agreement, if these conditions are met, the pay raises would be 0.5 percent in 2014-15 and 1 percent in 2015-16 and 2016-17. The mechanics currently are paid $16 to $23.27 per hour, depending on the position held.
