The Benton-Carroll-Salem school district has sold the former Carroll School to Carroll Township for $15,500.

The former school building, which dates to 1939, was closed at the end of the 2011-12 academic year and its students transferred to R.C. Waters Elementary School in Oak Harbor.

The township’s trustees have not decided on a specific purpose for the building but want it to be used by the community.
