The University of Toledo went live Monday with a Web site to track the progress of the university’s search for a new president.

Dr. Lloyd Jacobs, the university’s president since 2006, and UT jointly announced in March that he would step down effective June 30, 2015, a year before his contract ends. Members of the university’s Board of Trustees have started the initial stages of its replacement search, issuing a request for proposal last week for a search firm.

The Web site has sections for updates on the search, and for feedback from the public.

Vice Provost John Barrett and Larry Burns, the university’s vice president for external affairs, are leading a logistical support committee that will work with a yet-to-be-formed search committee and a search firm.
