Columbia Gas seeks no change in rate

5/17/2007

Natural-gas prices will stay the same next month for Columbia Gas of Ohio customers as warmer weather cuts the need for home heating.

The utility asked state regulators yesterday to let it charge $1.02 per 100 cubic feet in June, the same rate the utility requested in May. The June rate is down 2 cents from the same period a year ago. The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio typically approves such requests.

The average customer bill next month should be $41, the company said.
