Port board OKs bond issue for wind turbines

7/4/2011

The Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority board of directors has approved a $4.5 million “conduit” bond issue for two 750-kilowatt wind turbines to be erected at Clay High School.

The bonds will be backed by a lease between the Oregon City Public Schools District and Carpe Ventus VII LLC, which will own and operate the turbines.

The port authority will have no financial risk from the bonds.
