NEW YORK -- Rising tensions in the Middle East have pushed oil prices up 19 percent over three weeks and are leading to a rise in prices at the gasoline pump.

Since the start of July, average gas prices in the United States have climbed 11 cents to $3.44 per gallon. Pump prices are likely to creep higher in the coming weeks, analysts say.

In the Toledo area, the average price Thursday was $3.52 per gallon, up about 18 cents from a week earlier, according to gasbuddy.com, which can be found at toledoblade.com/gas.
