FINDLAY — City residents who drop off yard waste at Findlay’s green-waste site will have to pay for the service starting April 1.

Mayor Lydia Mihalik said the fees are necessary because illegal dumping has increased, and the city has assigned staff at the West High Street site to monitor waste dropped there. Residents will be charged $5 for cars, sport utility vehicles, and small trailers, and $10 for pickup trucks and medium-sized trailers.

Christmas trees may be recycled at the green-waste site and at Kaleidoscope Farms on Hancock County Road 54 in Mount Cory, Feasel’s Garden Center on Bright Road, Homestead Fall Farms on Marion Township Road 258 in Alvada, Brinkman’s Turkey Farm on U.S. 68, the Liberty Township House at County Road 140 and Liberty Township Road 89, and the marina parking lot of the Findlay Reservoir on Marion Township Road 207.
