Columbia Gas of Ohio Inc. says it will charge customers 48 cents per 100 cubic feet of natural gas in February, a one-cent decrease from the January rate. The new rate is based on the New York Mercantile Exchange’s closing price of 33 cents per 100 cubic feet, plus 15 cents for a state-approved service fee.

A year ago, the rate was 46 cents per 100 cubic feet. With the new rate, the average residential bill will be $105.36 in February, the gas utility says.
