DTE foundation gives $1M to Monroe college capital campaign for new tech center

MONROE — The DTE Energy Foundation announced Friday a $1 million donation to support the capital campaign for the new Career Technology Center at Monroe County Community College, and to promote diversity at the college.

The $17 million, 60,000-square-foot Career Technology Center is scheduled to open in the fall.

Monroe County is home to the Monroe Power Plant and the Fermi 2 Nuclear Power Plant, two of DTE Energy’s largest electric generating plants.
