Columbia Gas selects 5 suppliers for customers
4/3/2014COLUMBUS — Columbia Gas of Ohio said Wednesday that five suppliers have been chosen to provide gas to residential customers under its Standard Choice Offer that runs from April, 2014, through March, 2015.
The offer is the price charged to customers who have not selected a natural-gas supplier through Ohio’s natural-gas choice program.
Starting with April’s billing cycle, customers will see one of these firms listed on their bills as their supplier: Constellation Energy Gas Choice Inc., Direct Energy Services, DTE Energy Supply, IGS Energy, or Volunteer Energy Services Inc.
The five suppliers were chosen at Columbia’s retail gas supply auction on Feb. 4. The auction set the retail price adjustment, which is a state-approved service fee, at 14 cents per hundred cubic feet.
Columbia Gas still distributes the natural gas and provides the billing. The suppliers provide the gas to Columbia Gas.
