John Pa’s was at the corner of Front and Main streets in Toledo. This recipe was submitted by Bill Coine.
2 pounds ground beef
tablespoon thyme
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon paprika
2 garlic cloves
1 tablespoon cumin
1 tablespoon black pepper
tablespoon salt
Dash cayenne pepper
2 cups water
Saute beef in large skillet until browned. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 2 hours until most of the liquid has evaporated. Freezes well.
