Yuengling beer to make its way into Ohio

Pennsylvania brewer aims to begin distribution as early as October

AKRON -- The nation's oldest brewer is ready to bring its beer to Ohio.

The maker of Yuengling says the regional brew could enter the Ohio market as early as October.

D.G. Yuengling&Son of Pottsville, Pa., distributes its beer mostly in East Coast and southeastern states. The company that was founded in 1829 has been looking to expand as production capacity allows.

Business development manager Pat Noone tells the Akron Beacon Journal that he has been meeting with potential distributors, retailers and customers on Ohio.
