Dinner Tonight: Cheese Bread


There will be plenty of parties between now and New Year's Day, and plenty of football parties afterwards. For that matter, there will always be plenty of dinners that call for bread covered with gooey cheese. Dick White sent in this recipe for Cheese Bread that would be great for any time people get together and need a hunk of gooey-cheese-covered bread.

Cheese Bread

1 loaf French bread

1 cup shredded Asiago Cheese

1 cup mayonnaise

1 teaspoon garlic powder

½ cup soft margarine

1 cup shredded jack cheese

2/3 cup chopped green onions

Preheat oven to 350°.

Slice bread in half, lengthwise. Mix together all other ingredients, and spread on bread.

Bake 20-30 minutes, until light brown. Slice into 1-inch pieces, and serve hot.
