Sloppy joe … Good, right? So, sloppy joe under a crust? Even better. This recipe comes from Suzanne Woodring, who has figured out a way to bake a biscuit over a sloppy joe — no need for a sandwich. And by using a can of sauce, you don't even have to make your own sloppy joe.
Sloppy Joe Under a Crust
2 cups baking mix or biscuit mix (such as Bisquick)
1 pound ground beef
1 tablespoon sesame seeds, optional
1 (15½ ounce) can sloppy joe sandwich sauce
2 eggs
2 cups cheddar cheese
1 cup milk
Preheat oven to 400°.
Brown beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess grease.
Stir in sloppy joe sauce and mix well.
Spoon into ungreased 9-by-13-inch baking dish; sprinkle with cheese.
Stir baking mix, milk, and eggs until just blended; pour over beef mixture. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, if desired.
Bake (uncovered) for 25 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
