The origin of this recipe — submitted by Sherry Wesolowski of Maumee — has been lost to time, but the genius of it remains apparent. It is a way of making pizza using crescent-roll dough in place of a traditional pizza dough, which is then slathered with a mixture of cream cheese, mayonnaise, and powdered ranch dressing. And the whole thing is topped with vegetables (to make it healthy) and two kinds of cheese.
Vegetable Pizza
1 package crescent rolls
½ cup mayonnaise
4 ounces cream cheese
Cherry tomatoes, sliced in half
Finely chopped vegetables (carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, spinach, olives, etc.)
1 package powdered ranch dressing
¼ cup Parmesan cheese
¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese
Preheat oven to 350°. Press crescent rolls into a large rectangle on a greased cookie sheet, forming a lip around the edges. Bake 8 minutes. Let cool.
Mix mayonnaise, cream cheese, and ranch dressing and spread over dough. Sprinkle with tomatoes, vegetables, and both cheeses. Slice into pieces and serve.
