One of the best ways to celebrate summer is to get out and enjoy beautiful gardens, and anyone planning to do that on Saturday can also support the Toledo Day Nursery by touring showcase gardens at homes near Westfield Franklin Park mall.

The weather promises to be perfect for the 2012 TDN "In Another Garden" tour where garden enthusiasts can stroll and take in the view of pretty flowers and greenery.

From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., vans at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 4207 W. Laskey Rd., will be available to take TDN supporters to as many of the seven homes on the six-mile round trip as tourists want.

Gardens listed on the 17th tour are those of Mike and Nora Cassidy on Laskey Road; Geoff and Mary Humphrys on Gilhouse Road; Sharon Walters on Sulgrave Drive; Kerry and Dave McMurray on Meadow Lane; Janice Simon on Homerdale Avenue; Bill and Audrey Bruggemann on Ancona Drive; and Bill and Sue Horvath on Bainbridge Road.

Entertainment, refreshments, pottery, arts, and crafts will be available at some residents' gardens.

Advance tickets are $15; tickets the day of the tour are $20.

Tickets can be purchased at any of The Andersons; at the Bensell, Creque's, and Hoen's greenhouses; at Hafner's, Schramm's, and Ken's florists and flower shops; at both Black Diamond locations; Lily's at Levis, and at Rhodes Garden Fresh.

"In Another Garden" supports Toledo Day Nursery, the oldest child care center in Ohio and the fourth oldest in the country. TDN cares for infants from 6 weeks old to preschoolers up to age 5 at its three facilities: at 2211 and 1300 Jefferson Ave., and 2902 Stickney Ave.
