NLL roundup: Ross defense shuts down BG

FREMONT - Fremont Ross held visiting Bowling Green to just four points in the third quarter and held on for a 48-35 victory.

The Little Giants also got balanced scoring in the win as eight different players scored at least two points.

Bryan Root led Fremont Ross with 14 points while T.J. Hammer added nine.

Sophomore Chris Hanna led the Bobcats with a game-high 15 points but was the only BG player to reach double figures.

PEMBERVILLE - The Bulldogs tied it at 38 with 5:54 left, but the Eagles strung together a 5-0 run and hit free throws down the stretch to hold on to the season-opening victory.

Brett Gabel hit a 3-pointer with just over four minutes to go, giving Eastwood a five-point cushion. The Eagles then hit six of eight at foul line to seal it.

Ross Lingenfelder scored a game-high 17 for Eastwood while Kyle Ingraham paced Rossford with 12.
