NOWA League: Reckner layup gives Wauseon a victory

METAMORA - Josh Reckner hit a layup with two seconds left in the game to give Wauseon a 61-59 victory over Evergreen.

Wauseon (1-1, 1-0) got 18 points apiece from Clark Carroll and Aaron Weber.

Evergreen (2-1, 0-1) got 25 points from Matt Mossing and 13 from Jake Teal.

Mossing fired a 3-pointer from half court at the buzzer but couldn't connect.

The Indians hit 18 of 43 shots from the field and 19 of 25 from the foul line. Evergreen was 25 of 54 from the field and 4 of 10 from the line.

PATRICK HENRY 69, DELTA 54

HAMLER - The Patriots outscored the visitors 39-25 in the second half to break open a tight contest.

Rob Flick scored 20 points, including 10 from the free-throw line, to lead all scorers for Patrick Henry (2-1, 1-0).

Tyler Meyer added 18 and Jared Rohrs chipped in with 16 for the Patriots.

David Archibeque scored 15 to lead the Panthers (0-3, 0-1) while Andy Shindorf added 13.

MONTPELIER 54 SWANTON 43

MONTPELIER - Austin Saneholtz scored 26 points, Derick Lemmon added 11 and the Locomotives outscored Swanton 19-10 in the fourth quarter.

Brett McClure paced Swanton with 11 points.

Both teams committed 20 turnovers, but Montpelier won the battle of the boards 32-21.

Montpelier hit 20 of 45 field goal attempts while Swanton was a cool 15 for 44.

BRYAN 78, TINORA 54

DEFIANCE - Nate Ward scored 23 points, Travis Smith 13, Chris Carpenter added 12 and Chris Manley 10 for Bryan. which canned 26 of 34 shots from the foul line.

Nick Smith had 13 and Jay Hornish 11 for Tinora.
