Girls basketball: Lakota girls top Gibsonburg in battle of SLL unbeatens

KANSAS - In a battle of Suburban Lakes League unbeatens, Lakota outscored Gibsonburg 20-6 in the fourth quarter to win 68-66 in girls basketball last night.

Brandy Ritter led Lakota (8-0, 5-0) with 20 points, Kristen Lentz added 13 and Jenny Widman 10.

Gibsonburg (9-1, 4-1) got 25 points from Heather Hill, 17 from Sarah Taulker and 10 from Sarah Walby.

EASTWOOD 59, WOODMORE 38

PEMBERVILLE - Eastwood got its customary balance as Libbe Speck had 16 points and Brianna Hartman and Jessica Schultz had 14 each. Ashley Perkins led Woodmore with 15 - all on 3-pointers.

GENOA 64, OTSEGO 42

GENOA - Kelly Lindesmith scored 23 points to pace the Comets. Jodi Moritz added 12 points and Nicole Nissen 10. Hannah Murphy led Otsego with 13.

ELMWOOD 61, LAKE 33

BLOOMDALE - Danielle Reynolds scored 16 points for Elmwood.

NOTRE DAME 53, OAK HARBOR 42

OAK HARBOR - Rachel Hafner scored 13 points and Shayla Bell added 12 for Notre Dame. Mandy Quisno and Mary Missig each scored 12 for Oak Harbor.

PERRYSBURG 68, SPRINGFIELD 47

The Yellow Jackets jumped out to a 21-7 lead after one quarter. Janet Lawless scored 19 and Stephanie Serda 13.

NORTHVIEW 47, MAUMEE 45

Natalie Bennett scored 16 points and Nikki Smith added 13 for Northview. Maumee got 10 points from Reva Kerkulah.

SOUTHVIEW 49, ANTHONY WAYNE 33

Kelly Heil scored 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Southview.

Nicole Coffey-Avery scored 17 points and Anne Dunipace added 11 for Bowling Green. Rossford got 17 from Alison Zemanski.

Kristen Crawford scored 22 points, Melissa Bowie added 13 and Kate Achter 11 for Clay. Sandusky got 23 from Sheena DeVese.

FINDLAY - Brienne Beaschler and Lindy Harfield each scored 20 points and Lauren Hull added 12 for Findlay. Ashley Harr had 17 and Melissa Latham 11 for Fostoria.

FREMONT - Allison Decker scored 13 points and Sammantha Schneider had 12 for Fremont Ross. Shyla Henry had 14 for Lorain Southview.

MONTPELIER - Shanna Pressler scored 18 points and Kayla Richmond added 12 for Montpelier. Kelly Stechschulte scored 23 for Wauseon and Sara Roth had 16.

LAKESIDE - Ottawa Hills had four in double figures as Leeann Woodward had 16 points, Lauren Kruse 15 and Sydney Sterling and Meghan Lahner 11 each. Christene Benyak scored 19 and Ashley Dress 10 for Danbury.

MAUMEE VALLEY 73, EMMANUEL BAPTIST 62

Kathy Shelley scored 33 points and Megan Siebery added 22 for Maumee Valley. Shanna Elston led Emmanuel Baptist with 20, Amy Baker had 15 and Bethany VanDenBerghe 14.

CARDINAL STRITCH 53, TOLEDO CHRISTIAN 49

Nicole Krzyminski scored 13 points, including all nine of Stritch's points in overtime. Christine Yanez also had 13 points for Stritch. Ashley Futrell led Toledo Christian with 17, and sent the game into overtime with a basket with 21 seconds left in regulation.
