Girls basketball roundup: Gibsonburg strong in second half

ELMORE - Heather Hill scored 27 points, including 23 in the second half when Gibsonburg outscored Woodmore 50-31 for a 67-58 victory over the Wildcats.

Krissy Lotycz added 13 points and Abby Wonderly 12 for Gibsonburg, 11-2 overall and 6-2 in the Suburban Lakes League.

Woodmore (10-5, 5-4) got 25 points from Abby Richard and Ashley Gahn added 16.

OTSEGO 46, LAKE 45

TONTOGANY - Senior center Erica Punches took a pass from Kris Shultz and knocked in the winning bucket for Otsego (6-8, 3-6 SLL) with three seconds to play. Punches scored 13 for the game and had 10 rebounds while the Knights Andrea Shoup added 11 points.

Karis Rogacki led Lake (0-14, 0-9) with 21 points.

EASTWOOD 62, ELMWOOD 29

PEMBERVILLE _- The Eagles jumped to a 20-4 first-quarter lead and coasted as Stacey Weiland scored 15 points and Jessica Schult added 12.

LAKOTA 76, GENOA 51

KANSAS - Brandy Ritter scored 19 points, Kristen Lentz had 15 and 12 players scored for Lakota.

Kelly Lindesmith led Genoa with 20 and Lindsay Imbery added 10.

OTTAWA HILLS 65, WOODWARD 51

Lauren Kruse scored 28 points, including five treys, and Lee Woodward added 16 for visiting Ottawa Hills (11-1).

Misti Horton scored 20 and Ebony Jones 16 for Woodward.

MAUMEE VALLEY 64, BETTSVILLE 33

The Hawks overwhelmed the Bobcats as Kathy Shelley, Laquell Brown and Megan Sieberg (11 rebounds) scored 23, 19 and 16 points, respectively.

Maumee Valley (13-2) had only a 15-10 lead after the first quarter, but blew the game wide open in the next two periods and was ahead 49-19 going into the fourth.

Laura Sisco led Bettsville with 12 points and Jyl Trautman added 11.

DELTA 50, EDON 38

DELTA - Heather Inderrieden scored 13 points and Sarah Friess had 10 points and 12 rebounds for Delta. The Panthers pressed in the first quarter to take a 17-2 lead.

Calli Vollmar scored 12 and Sheena Mohre 11 for Edon.

FAIRVIEW 73, WAUSEON 70

WAUSEON - Cassy Beardsley scored 21 points as Fairview won in overtime. Rachel Jermeay added 15 and Amber Sims and Amanda McCurdy 10 apiece.

Kelly Stechschulte led Wauseon with 22 and Amber Uphaus and Stephanie Gustwiller each scored 10.

EDGERTON 75, EASTSIDE 47

EDGERTON - Chivonne scored 22 points, Heather Balough added 18 for Edgerton (10-2).

STRYKER 65, LAKEWOOD PARK 19

STRYKER - Erin Partee scored 15 points and Megan Myers had 14 in Stryker's romp.
