Eight of Waka's 11 points, including six straight at one point, came in the fourth quarter. He provided the winning points for the Panthers by making two free throws with 26 seconds to play.

Whitmer shot 53 percent from the field, including 7 of 8 in the fourth quarter as coach Bruce Smith recorded his 200th career victory.

Both teams are 8-8 overall and 6-5 in the GLL.

Fremont Ross 60, Clay 58

The Little Giants clinched at least a share of the GLL championship by holding off a hot-shooting Clay squad with free throws at the end.

It was close all the way, with a 3-pointer by Bryan McDougle bringing the Eagles to within 56-54.

Ross (13-4, 10-1) turned it over, but this time a Clay 3-pointer missed and the Little Giants closed it out with four straight free throws (after making only 7 of 16 previously), two by Lee Root and two by Terrance Jones.

Jones was the game's leading scorer with 24 points. McDougle led Clay (5-11, 3-8) with 19 points and Ryan Stager tallied 10.

The Eagles were 9-of-15 from 3-point range.
