Polley-Foos connection paces Bellevue victory

MANSFIELD - Jeff Polley connected on 17 of 28 passes for 271 yards and four touchdowns, and J.J. Foos caught three of those scoring strikes as Bellevue knocked off the state's No. 1 Division III team, Sunbury Big Walnut, 42-35 in a regional final shootout last night.

Foos had 8 catches for 141 yards with scores of 3, 26 and 21 yards. He also caught two conversion passes.

Ben Snyder caught a nine-yard TD pass. Polley did not throw an interception.

Chad Beamer scored on a four-yard run and Aaron Schoen on a one-yard run.

Big Walnut ran for 268 yards and added 163 passing. Bellevue ran for 119 yards.

Bellevue advances to the state semifinals with an 11-2 record while Big Walnut drops out at 12-1.
