Northern Lakes roundup: Fostoria defeats Generals

In a see-saw battle featuring big scoring plays and seven lead changes, Fostoria scored last and beat Anthony Wayne 30-28 last night.

The Generals amassed 399 yards of total offense while the Redmen tallied 318.

AW quarterback Jason Sadowski had a huge night, throwing TD passes of 54, 57, 6 and 21 yards. Sadowski was 17 of 24 for 311 yards.

Brandon Cramer caught five passes for 124 yards and a TD, while Joe Saneholtz had three catches for 90 yards and a score for the Generals (1-2).

Yet Fostoria (2-1) took the lead for good on a four-yard run by Lee Vitte in the fourth quarter.

Redmen QB Drew Bauman was 10 of 12 for 123 yards. Bill Meyers scored on a 27-yard pass and Mike Haase scored on a 50-yard run.

Tremain Jackson racked up 160 yards on 23 carries for Fostoria.

Clay led 21-0 at the half and held off the Blue Devils at Springfield.

Clay's Ricky Moore scored on a seven-yard pass from Brian McDougle and a two-yard run. Brandon Hedges scored on runs of 6 and 1 yards, and McDougle scored on an 18-yard run.

Todd Leonard hit a pair of TD passes for Springfield - 62 yards to Craig Mossing and 29 to Jon Gorney.

Marquis Hayes led Springfield with 115 yards on 14 carries while Moore had 70 on 13 for Clay.

The Eagles ran for 215 yards and passed for 83 while Springfield had 125 on the ground and 134 in the air.

Ross Graham sparked the Clay defense with 21 tackles (11 unassisted) and intercepted a pass. Nick Ulrich had 11 tackles and blocked a kick.

BOWLING GREEN - Blake Boulton ran for 126 yards on 16 carries and scored four touchdowns for unbeaten Napoleon.

Boulton's scores came on runs of 15, 2, 14 and 47 yards.

Napoleon piled up 380 yards with 308 coming on the ground.

BG's score came on a four-yard pass from Chris Winkle to Matt Emans.
