Girls basketball roundup: Kerkulah, Greisiger pace Maumee victory

Reva Kerkulah scored 14 points and Katie Greisiger added 10 as Maumee defeated Notre Dame 45-34 in the Maumee Rotary Classic at Owens.

Maureen Hunter paced Notre Dame (5-3) with 10 points.

Maumee (6-3) hit 21 of 35 foul shots, led by Leslie Korotney's 7-of-8 performance. Notre Dame canned just 9 of 21.

The Little Giants rushed to a 33-22 lead at the half, then held on through several fourth-quarter ties to edge the Panthers in the Maumee Rotary Classic.

Stacy Hall poured in 20 points for Fremont and Rachel and Kristen Hammer added 12 and 11, respectively.

Bridget Buss scored 18 points and Sara Sheperd had 15 for Whitmer.

MASON, Ohio - Sonya Coleman scored 11 points and Kelly Helvey and Nicole Brown each had 10 for the Irish in the Mason Holiday Tournament.

COLUMBUS - Scott was unable to contain hot-shooting guard Courtney Thomas in losing in the Mike Burbridge Invitational at Westland High School. Thomas led Reynoldsburg (6-1) with 26 points.

Scott (6-2) was led by Mattie Mays with 17 points and Krystle Sudduth with 11.

Liz Tansey scored 15 points, including eight in the fourth quarter when Southview outscored the Rebels 20-11.

Kristi McCoy added 13 and Stephanie Kniesley 10.

Jazlyn Davis led Bowsher with 19, Lamesha Johnson had 18 but only four Rebels scored.

Nikki Smith scored 26 points and Brooke Amstutz added 13 as Northview romped.

Lindsey McDonald led Rogers with nine.

Kathleen Bergman had 15 points and 12 rebounds, and Kristen Ameling also scored 15 as Stritch improved to 9-1.

Erica Russell led Libbey with 17 and Jasmine Hurt added 14.

LOGAN, Ohio - Bexley had four players in double figures, led 25-14 after one quarter and blanked Eastwood 9-0 in the third in the Logan Invitational.

Whitney Hartman led Eastwood with 15 and Jessica Schult had 12.

Sam Herriman scored 19 of her 21 points to pace Hilltop in the Warrior Christmas Classic at Emmanuel Baptist. Baylee Burrowes added 18.

Megan Sieberg led Maumee Valley with 22 points.

Shanna Elston poured in 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Emmanuel Baptist in the Warrior Christmas Classic. Jessica Dabiri added a dozen for the 2-6 Warriors.

Jill Hochstettler had 14 for Temple.
