Archbold routs Montpelier 35-7

MONTPELIER - Archbold spotted Montpelier a 7-0 lead on Kurt Moore's 20-yard touchdown run and Jose Salazar's PAT kick on the Locomotives' first drive of the game, but responded with five unanswered TDs, three from back Phil Baden, in a 35-7 Northwest Ohio Athletic League football win Saturday night.

Baden, who topped the Blue Streaks (5-1, 4-0 NWOAL) with 81 yards on 10 rushes, scored on runs of 48 and 2 yards in the first half, and on a 31-yard pass from Kevin Mignin in the third quarter. The other TDs came on a one-yard plunge from Casey Nofziger and a two-yard run from Nick Cameron.

Archbold outgained the Locomotives (0-6, 0-5) in total offense 317-122.

Tony Pawlowicz led Montpelier with 71 yards on 16 carries. The game was suspended on Friday because of lightning.
