NWOAL: Tigers rally, win defensive tilt at Delta

DELTA - Tyler Sharpe tied the game for Liberty Center by sinking a field goal with 1:20 left, and Ryan Bonner hit two free throws with 30 ticks on the clock to put the Tigers ahead for good in a 33-30 Northwest Ohio Athletic League victory over Delta last night.

Brian Babcock paced the Tigers scorers with 12 points for the come-from-behind victory.

The Panthers were led by Clint Russell s 11 points.

WAUSEON - Jake Reckner scored 21 points and Kyle Storrer added 11 for the Indians (4-0, 2-0), who outscored the visitors 26-15 in the second half.

Chris Carpenter tallied 14 points for the Golden Bears (1-3, 0-2).

Wauseon had a 28-21 rebounding advantage and was 13-of-21 at the free-throw line to Bryan s 6-of-13.

METAMORA - The Blue Streaks led by one at the half, then hit the Vikings with a 19-7 third quarter to help decide the game.

Evergreen, which had five straight turnovers to start the second half, tried to climb back in, but Archbold was 10-of-10 at the free-throw line in the fourth quarter.

Dan Borcherdt led the Streaks (4-1, 2-0 in the league) with 26, including 8 in the third.

Andrew Pinkelman led 2-2, 0-2 Evergreen with 15.

SWANTON - The Patriots shot 64 percent from the floor, including 8 of 14 3-pointers, as they rolled over the Bulldogs.

Trent Meyer had 16 points with four treys to lead Patrick Henry. Logan Haake added 12, Justin Bostelman 11, and Michael Phillips 10 in the Patriots win.

The Bulldogs were outrebounded 33-18 and committed 20 turnovers.
