Davis scores 24; Rebels roll

Jazlyn Davis scored 24 points last night as Bowsher romped to a 67-47 victory over Anthony Wayne in girls basketball.

The visiting Rebels jumped out to a 24-9 lead after one quarter and were never challenged.

Kim Vogtsberger led the Generals with 11 points, including three 3-pointers.

Bowsher outrebounded Anthony Wayne 38-27 and forced the Generals into 40 turnovers.

WAITE 53, SWANTON 47

Gennett McCarver threw in 20 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to lead the Indians.

Tatyana McNeal added 14 points for Waite (6-4), which scored 23 in the second quarter to take a 31-22 halftime lead.

Jennifer Keesey paced the visiting Bulldogs (5-3) with 29 points. Abby LaVigne chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds. Chelsea White had 12 rebounds.

SPRINGFIELD 47, ROGERS 22

The Blue Devils jumped to a 16-2 lead after one quarter and led 30-9 at halftime.

Kelly Pohlman topped Springfield with nine points and Sarah Carstensen added eight.

Regina Funches led the Rams with eight points.

Rogers played without five players who were suspended for violating team rules.

NORTHWOOD 67, EMMANUEL BAPTIST 50

Jamie Flick had 15 points, Jess Ramirez 14 and Brittany Bogart 13 to lead the visiting Rangers to a TAAC victory.

Charlotte Jones scored 26 points for the Warriors.

TOLEDO CHRISTIAN 66, MAUMEE VALLEY 24

Alissa Toth (13 points), Emily Cellier (12), Jackie Emmenecker (11), Kristen Schweer (10) and Andrea Barlage (10) paced the Eagles (6-1, 2-1 TAAC). Emmenecker also grabbed 17 rebounds.

Alexis Holman led the Hawks (1-7, 0-3) with 10. Maumee Valley made 12 free throws to Toledo Christian s six but sank only six field-goal tries.

ARCHBOLD 69, BOWLING GREEN 57

ARCHBOLD - The Blue Streaks doubled their output in the second half to rally from a 30-23 halftime deficit.

Kendra Stahl scored 20 points, Amy Wanemacher 15, Sarah Grime 14 and Ashley Ruffer 10 for Archbold (8-0), which made 28 of 53 field-goal attempts.

Liz Chibucos tallied 23 points for the Bobcats (4-4).

LIBERTY CENTER 61, OTSEGO 57

TONTOGANY - The Tigers won this one at the foul line, sinking 19 of 24 free throws to the Knights 11-of-15.

Denise Methany tallied 17 points and Laura Langenhop added 12 for Liberty Center.

Erin Limes (17), Jennie McVey (11), Stephanie Asmus (11) and Julia Weisenborn (10) led Otsego.

UHRICHSVILLE, Ohio - Eastwood placed third in the Ohio High School Wrestling Coaches Association Division II state dual meet tournament at Claymont High School on Sunday night, defeating Chagrin Falls Kenston via tie-breaker after wrestling to a 37-37 draw in the consolation finals.

Earlier, in the opening round of the eight-team tournament, coach Ralph Cubberly s Eagles upset second-ranked Columbus DeSales 46-14, only to by edged 32-26 by eventual tournament champion and third-ranked Walsh Jesuit.

Four Eastwood wrestlers won all three of their individual matches - Ben Llanas (112 pounds), Ryan Cubberly (125), Drew Lashaway (130) and Kurt Shroyer (135).
