SLL: Woodmore holds off rally by Elmwood for road win

BLOOMDALE - League-leading Woodmore held off a furious fourth-quarter rally by Elmwood to escape with a 56-53 victory on the road last night.

The Wildcats grabbed a six-point halftime lead after outscoring the Royals 14-4 in the second quarter. But Elmwood exploded for 21 points in the final quarter while falling just short.

SLL scoring leader Tyler Rosenberger poured in 24 points for Woodmore (11-3, 9-1), while Brian Perkins added 10. David Bowen contributed nine points and nine assists.

Adam Blachuta tallied 15 points and Kyle Rhoad 13 for Elmwood (8-6, 6-4).

MILLBURY - The Knights outscored Lake 47-22 in the middle quarters.

Damien Montelongo led Otsego (8-6, 7-3) with 20 points, Jordan Murphy added 18, Donald Casey 16 and Chad Zellin 14.

Tristen Lohmeyer and Wes Blank scored 11 apiece for Lake (4-11, 2-8) and Rocky Garcia added 10.

The Knights hit 28 of 55 shots from the field.

GIBSONBURG - Eastwood out-rebounded Gibsonburg 42-18 and made 5 of 14 trey attempts. The Golden Bears were 0 of 5.

Josh Schulte scored 16 points for Eastwood (8-5, 10-3) and Kevin Leady had 14.

Brent Ernsthausen and Drew Williamson each had 13 for the Bears (5-10, 3-7), who hit 14 of 50 shots.
