Northview girls roll in sectional

Unbeaten Northview roared to a 27-7 lead after one quarter last night on the way to a 75-32 Division I girls sectional basketball victory over Libbey at Central Catholic.

Brooke Amstutz paced the Wildcats with 20 points, including four treys. Niki McCoy added 14 and Danielle Bly had 12.

Jana Wilson and Evette Mosby scored seven points apiace for Libbey.

WAITE 62, SPRINGFIELD 52

Gennett McCarver scored 19 points for Waite at Central Catholic. Shareese Ulis added 16 and Tatyana McNeal 13.

Sarah Carstensen led Springfield with 24 and Alex Noble had 12.

After trailing 13-8 at the end of the first quarter, Waite outscored Springfield 24-1 in the second.

BOWSHER 82,

WOODWARD 32

Jazlyn Davis scored 17, Stephany Johnson 16 and Lamesha Johnson 12 for Bowsher at Clay.

Regina Nicholson paced Woodward with 10 points.

SCOTT 71, ROGERS 34

In the second game at Clay, Mattie Mays scored 19 and Krystle Sudduth added 17 for Scott.

Olivia Griswold paced Rogers with 10.

ASHLAND 50, CLAY 48

BASCOM - Kate Achter scored 19 and Nina Mlynek added 15 but Clay (12-8) was upset by Ashland (4-17).

EASTWOOD 46,

ROSSFORD 44

SWANTON - Sophomore Kim Young scored 21 points and Eastwood slipped by Rossford in overtime after falling behind 16-11 by halftime.

A 13-4 advantage in the third quarter got the Eagles going.

Leslie Lonchyna paced Rossford with 11 and Crystal Sloan added 10.

SWANTON - Georgette Richardson led a balanced Defiance attack with 11 points.

Kayla Mengerink paced Napoleon with 12.

OLD FORT - Whitney Siehl had 15, Jen Tisza 13 and Paula Wargo 10 for Post Clinton.

Amber Collins led Tiffin Columbian with 14 and Erica Kirschner 11.

FOSTORIA 84, CLYDE 58

OLD FORT - Candace McQueen poured in 26 points to pace Fostoria.

Elaine DiCesare added 17 and Kelly Echelberry 14.

Steph Meyer led Clyde with 16 and Katie Stein added 12.
