Girls basketball sectionals: Bowsher edges Scott; Central rolls to victory

Jazlyn Davis scored 31 points and Stephany Johnson added 14 to lead Bowsher to a 63-60 girls sectional final basketball victory over Scott last night at Clay.

Davis scored 16 points in the fourth quarter when the Rebels (18-4) outscored the Bulldogs 25-19.

Bowsher hit 13 of 26 foul shots to 13 of 23 for Scott (14-8).

Mattie Mays paced Scott with 22 points, Krystle Sudduth added 11 and Helena Times had 10.

CENTRAL 62, ST. URSULA 47

Central s pressure was too much for St. Ursula in the second game at Clay.

Jessica Minnfield led the Irish (15-6) with 17 points, Mallory Strall added 15, Breanna Robinson 12 and Ellen Herman 10.

Ali Florian scored 18 and Jena Blosser had 13 for St. Ursula (11-10).

NORTHVIEW 86, WAITE 38

Northview jumped out to a 21-2 first-quarter lead and never looked back against Waite at Central Catholic.

Nikki Smith topped the Wildcats (22-0) with 16 points, while Brooke Amstutz added 13 and Nikki Cooper 12.

Shareese Ulis topped Waite (10-11) with 17 points.

START 64, SOUTHVIEW 38

The Spartans scored early and often in rolling over Southview at Central Catholic as Dominique Ervin scored 18 points and Dominique Hibbler 14. Sandi Brown added 12 points and Vicki Brown 10 for Start (15-4).

Kelsey Navarre topped the scoring chart for Southview (10-12) with 12 points.

PERRYSBURG 68, ANTHONY WAYNE 29

McCOMB - Laura Markwood scored 26 points and Perrysburg blasted a fellow Northern Lakes League team after the trip to McComb.

Allison Vallas added 15 for the Jackets.

FINDLAY 44, BOWLING GREEN 39

McCOMB - Kellyn Tisci scored 11 and Carlee Roethlisberger had 10 as Findlay got by Bowling Green.

Aubry VanDiver paced the Bobcats with 17.

BELLEVUE 55, OAK HARBOR 39

OLD FORT - Bellevue jumped out to a 19-2, first-quarter lead and never looked back, ending Oak Harbor s bid for a perfect season.

Leslie King scored 18 points to lead Bellevue (18-4). Kelli Nasonti added 14 points and Alexa Nasonti 10.

Megan Bodner and Jen Moor each scored 10 points for Oak Harbor (21-1).

FOSTORIA 66, PORT CLINTON 46

OLD FORT - Candice McQueen netted 25 points and Elaine DiCesare added 21 as Fostoria disposed of Port Clinton.

McQueen made 11 field goals and DiCesare made six 3-pointers as Fostoria improved to 18-4.

Jen Tisza scored 15 points and Lindsay Tisza 11 for Port Clinton (16-6).

WAUSEON 49, BRYAN 35

SWANTON - Katie Fry scored 12 points and Taylor Gleckler added 11 for Wauseon.

Sara Fee led Bryan with 14 points.

DEFIANCE 50, EASTWOOD 43

SWANTON - Deedee Hellman scored 11 and Ashley Jackson and Jennifer Zeller added 10 apiece for Defiance.

Eastwood got nine from Whitney Hartman.

STRITCH 79, WOODMORE 70

PEMBERVILLE - Five Cardinals placed in double figures at Eastwood, with Kristen Ameling leading the way with 21 points, followed by Kelcee Evans (14), Apryle Pocse (13), Nicole Bergman (12), and Brittany Barrera (10).

Leah Garcia led Woodmore with 22, while Carrie Netcher added 19, Megan Abbey 11, and Cadie Brown 10.

ELMWOOD 55, GENOA 40

PEMBERVILLE - Amber Mogart and Brittany Berry scored 13 apiece for the Royals at Eastwood, with Kelly Wagner adding 10. Keri Williams tallied 14 and Nicole Nissen 13 for the Comets.

SWANTON 47, EVERGREEN 45

LIBERTY CENTER - Chelsea White connected on a 12-foot baseline jump shot with 15 seconds to go to give Swanton the victory.

White scored 13 points for the Bulldogs (12-10) and added 13 rebounds, 8 on offense. Tarah Dominique contributed 12 points for Swanton.

Leslie Stong led Evergreen (16-5) with 16 points and Kelly Beer chipped in with 10.

The Bulldogs beat the Vikings on the boards 33-21. Swanton committed only eight turnovers, compared to Evergreen s 20.

ARCHBOLD 56, DELTA 32

LIBERTY CENTER - Kendra Stahl led Archbold (21-1) with 13 points, and a foul-line jumper in the third quarter gave her 1,000 points for her career.

Ashley Ruffer added 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Lauren Ruple paced Delta (5-16) with 12 points.

Archbold hit 15 of 21 foul shots to Delta s 3 of 10.

PATRICK HENRY 75, BLUFFTON 62

FINDLAY - Amanda Coressel led Patrick Henry with 22 points. Jenna Inselmann added 15 and Alison Meyer had 13.

The Patriots outrebounded Bluffton 34-20 with Beth Hops grabbing eight.

OTTAWA HILLS 43, NORTHWOOD 34

BOWLING GREEN - Rachel Garber scored 13 points and Megan Jamieson 10 as Ottawa Hills ousted league rival Northwood at Bowling Green High School.

Jamie Flick tallied 12 points for the Rangers.

TOLEDO CHRISTIAN 53, GIBSONBURG 37

BOWLING GREEN - Toledo Christian got 16 from Kristen Schweer, 14 from Jackie Emmenecker and 11 from Alissa Toth.

Julie Beaschler and Mallory Fleming scored eight apiece for Gibsonburg.

WAUSEON - Cassie Giesige scored 21 points to pace Holgate.

Stephanoe McCord led Fayette with 12.

WAUSEON - Kamilla Ruffer scored 13 and Melissa Henry 11 for Stryker, which hit 10 of 14 foul shots to Ayersville s 2 of 13.

Julie Brown led Ayersville with 12 points.

BRYAN - Teresia Dulle paced Edon with 16 points. Tiffany Green scored 15 for Montpelier.

BRYAN - Brooke Short had 13 and Shari Nihart 10 for Edgerton.

TIFFIN - Leanne Lucius scored 15 and Angie Schalk 11 for Old Fort, which outscored Tiffin Calvert 21-6 in the third quarter at Columbian. Amanda Ritzler paced Calvert with 11.

OTTAWA - Lynn Schroeder had 17 points and 11 rebounds for Miller City at Ottawa-Glandorf. Brooke Hermiller added 14 points and Megan Niese had 12. Amanda Schroeder led Columbus Grove with 15.

KALIDA 51, CONTINENTAL 44

OTTAWA - Sarah Buss scored 12 points and Allison Siefker and Lori Duling added 11 apiece for Kalida at Ottawa-Glandorf. Siefker also grabbed 11 rebounds.

Mallory Diamond paced Continental with 10.
