Other: First scores lead first Findlay win

SANDUSKY - Findlay scored on the first play of the game and the first play of two ensuing quarters last night en route to a 44-7 romp over Sandusky.

Greg Mills returned the opening kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown, Joe Strzempka caught a 49-yard TD pass from Zack Kraus on the first play of the second quarter and Mark Snodgrass booted a 28-yard field goal to open the fourth for the Trojans (1-5, 1-0 GBC).

Mills also rushed for 158 yards and scored on runs of 1 and 5 yards.

DEFIANCE 48, ELIDA 6

DEFIANCE - Graham Wagner completed 18 of 26 passes for 239 yards and a touchdown - a 21-yarder to Clay Grelwe (5 catches, 86 yards) - and also scored twice on one-yard runs for the Bulldogs (3-3, 3-2 WBL), who amassed 483 total yards. Robert Orta added 92 yards on the ground on 10 carries.

NORWALK 28,

FOSTORIA 19

NORWALK - Chase Munoz completed 13 of 31 passes for 184 yards and a touchdown and scored on a two-yard run for the Redmen, but he also threw four interceptions. Fostoria compiled 300 total yards to Norwalk's 223, 165 on the ground.

ST. MARY'S 7,

OAK HARBOR 6

SANDUSKY - Spencer Dye scored on a 21-yard run and Berkey Miely kicked the PAT with 1:08 to play as St. Mary's came from behind to win.

T.J. Groff scored from the 1 for Oak Harbor in the second quarter but it failed on the PAT.

PORT CLINTON 7

PORT CLINTON - Brandon Jakubcin ran for two touchdowns and threw a 30-yard TD pass as the Tigers (6-0, 3-0) jumped to a 31-0 lead at the half.

LIBERTY-BENTON 56, McCOMB 7

McCOMB - Shawn Martien threw 32 and 30-yard touchdown passes to Michael Busch to get the Eagles started, and Jeffrey Busching ran 16 times for 171 yards and three touchdowns en route to becoming Liberty-Benton's all-time leading rusher. His 2,145 career yards overtook the 2,092 posted by Dave Kramer (1971-73).

WHITMORE LAKE 51, SUMMERFIELD 7

WHITMORE LAKE, Mich. - Brandon Medlen rushed 12 times for 60 yards, including a 32-yard touchdown run, but it was not nearly enough as the Trojans built a 37-7 halftime lead and finished with 203 yards rushing and 157 through the air.

BRITTON-DEERFIELD 18

BRITTON, Mich. - Zach Johnson rushed nine times for 173 yards, including a 68-yard TD romp, and caught a 21-yard TD pass, and Corey Love ran 15 times for 167 yards and three TDs for the Bulldogs, who ground out 339 yards.

Justin Preece was 14-of-22 passing for 233 yards and three touchdowns for B-D.
