TAAC: TC deals first league defeat to Northwood

Toledo Christian handed Northwood its first ever loss in the Toledo Area Athletic Conference last night - 13-6 in overtime at Central.

Jacob Weemes extended himself fully and grabbed Dan Newman's 22-yard pass in the end zone to end a muddy mess.

Don Klenke returned the opening kickoff 70 yards for Northwood (3-5, 1-1) and that lead stood until the last three minutes of the game when Mike Creech snared a three-yard pass from Newman to tie the game.

Newman rushed the ball 18 times for 72 yards and completed 8 of 14 passes for 72 yards. Toledo Christian (5-3, 2-0) threw only three passes in the first three quarters, but Newman completed 7 of 11 in the final quarter and overtime.

The Rangers had won 15 straight conference games.

Ottawa Hills 20, Danbury 0

LAKESIDE - Ottawa Hills (3-5, 2-1) ran for 314 yards against Danbury (0-8, 0-3).

Grant Kozy racked up 175 yards with a 25-yard touchdown run while Matt Netter gained 142 yards on 25 carries, which included a seven-yard touchdown run.

OH quarterback Sam Miller hit Kenny Valuska for a three-yard touchdown pass for the first score of the game.
