NLL: Wagner, George pace Bulldogs <font color=#FF3300"><b>(BCSN video)</b></font>
10/23/2004Kevin Wagner rushed 22 times for 149 yards and three touchdowns and lineman Teddy George led the defense with 12 solo tackles and a sack as Rossford downed Northview 24-10 last night.
Wagner scored on 16 and 12-yard runs in the first quarter to put the Bulldogs (6-3, 4-2) ahead 14-3 after one quarter. He also scored from the 10 in the final period to finish the scoring.
Casey Meridieth, who was held to 40 yards on 19 carries, scored from the 1 for the visiting Wildcats (4-5, 2-4), who also got a 37-yard field goal from Jimmy Spencer.
Matt Schwind booted a 27-yard field goal and three PATs for Rossford, which totaled 171 yards rushing and 85 through the air.
Northview compiled just 60 yards rushing, and Mike Schneider completed 11 of 26 passes for 92 yards.
Andy Bowman was 6-of-11 passing for the Bulldogs.
Anthony Wayne 18, Perrysburg 13
Matt Lingo ran for 120 yards on 19 carries and scored twice to pace the Generals (4-5, 3-3).
Lingo scored on runs of 1 and 36 yards.
Perrysburg (2-7, 1-5) scored on a pair of touchdown passes from Ore Satinkun - 10 yards to Ron Tisdale and 45 to Eric Hufford, and led in the third quarter by virtue of the game's only successful PAT.
But Brad Bellner, who had 91 yards on 14 carries, scored the winning TD later in the third quarter on a 19-yard run.
Anthony Wayne ran for 262 yards and added 93 through the air while Perrysburg had 75 rushing and 147 passing.
Southview 33,
Bowling Green 13
Southview (8-1, 5-1) scored 21 straight points within a span of 1:05 in the second quarter.
Southview scored first on Gary Shannon's 31-yard touchdown run, before Josh Swiecicki scored on a five-yard run for Bowling Green (3-6, 3-3).
The Cougars then went on a tear when Aaron Waldie hauled in a 67-yard touchdown pass from Andrew Skeels and Andrew Wilson scooped up a fumble and dashed 12 yards for a score.
Waldie also caught a 27-yard TD pass and finished the game with 101 yards receiving.
Skeels completed 14 passes for 235 yards for the Cougars, while Ryan Hoehner caught 8 passes for 93 yards for Bowling Green.
Maumee 28,
Springfield 7
The Panthers held the Blue Devils to 56 yards passing and minus-3 on the ground in a rout at home.
Maumee quarterback Jake Causer was 10 of 22 for 159 yards and two touchdowns. Causer connected with Alex Junga on a 40-yard score and with Daryel Washington on a 29-yard touchdown.
Brad Goatley and Ray Parry also scored on running plays to help Maumee (8-1, 5-1) remain tied with Southview for the league lead. The Panthers totaled 299 yards (140 rushing and 159 passing).
Quarterback Hans Vetter led Springfield (2-7, 1-5) with 56 yards on the ground.
He also hooked up with Rick Isby on a 23-yard touchdown pass.
