Girls basketball: Northview, Southview romp to Northern Lakes victories

Northview placed four in double figures and easily moved to 2-0 with an 82-22 Northern Lakes League victory over Maumee last night at home.

Niki McCoy scored 17, Riana Miller 14, Danielle Bly 13 and Abby Diehl 10 for the Wildcats, who outrebounded the Panthers 31-13 and hit 7 of 10 shots from beyond the arc.

Trisha Krewson and Shelly Warner scored seven points each to pace the Panthers.

SOUTHVIEW 67, BOWLING GREEN 33

Liz Tansey scored 13 points, Jackie Freesen had 11 and 11 Cougars scored in their NLL romp. Rebekah Peters led visiting Bowling Green with eight.

ANTHONY WAYNE 47, SPRINGFIELD 40

Kelsey Nagel paced Anthony Wayne with 15 points, including nine for the foul line, and the Alex Noble paced Springfield with 12.

PERRYSBURG 48, ROSSFORD 21

Nicole Dicler paced Perrysburg with 13 as the Jackets led 12-2 after one quarter. Crystal Swan led Rossford with seven.

ST. URSULA 54, FREMONT ROSS 40

FREMONT - Jena Blosser paced St. Ursula with 12 points and the Arrows closed it out by hitting 6 of 8 free throws in the final quarter. Paige Kingsborough paced Ross with 11.

BARBERTON 70, SCOTT 50

Miesha Blackshear scored 27 points for Scott but visiting Barberton prevailed.

OTSEGO 67, McCOMB 34

TONTOGANY - Jennie McVey and Erin Limes scored 16 points apiece and Stephanie Asmus added 12 as Otsetgo jumped to a 17-3 lead after one quarter in its opener.

Eve Rhoades led McComb with 11.

EASTWOOD 58, KALIDA 53

LIMA - Kim Young poured in 27 points and Lynsey McIntire added 14 as Eastwood won the consolation game of the Bath Kewpee Invitational.

The Eagles won with a 15-9 advantage in the fourth quarter.

Megan Hamburg and Jes Winkle scored 13 each for Kalida.

ARCHBOLD 43, EDGERTON 31

ARCHBOLD - Sarah Grime scored 16 points and Archbold jumped to a 15-7 lead after one quarter of its opener.

Grime also grabbed nine rebounds as the Streaks won 33-19 in the boards.

Brooke Short led Edgerton with eight.

OTTAWA HILLS 53, WOODMORE 38

Megan Jamieson poured in 26 points and Rachel Garber added 12 as the Green Bears rolled in their opener at home.

Jamieson also grabbed nine rebounds and hit 7 of 13 shots from the field.

Megan Abbey and Sarah Hernandez scored nine apiece for Woodmore.

SHERWOOD - Lindsay Mack scored 19 points and Kelsey Sims and Sarah Smith added 10 apiece for Fairview.

Danielle Finch paced Montpelier with 21.

Jolie Steele scored 25 points and Emmanuel prevailed in double overtime.

Freshman Shalica McCorey added 10 points for Emmanuel.

HOLGATE - Beth Giesige led Holgate with 24 and Cassie Giesige added 15. Chelsea Henry had 13 for Stryker.

OTTAWA-GLANDORF 49, MILLER CITY 31

OTTAWA - Shelly Bellman scored 15 for Ottawa-Glandorf.

Melanie Schroeder paced Miller City with 13.
