Woodmore holds off Eastwood at foul line

ELMORE - Tyler Rosenberger and Derek Speaker scored 19 points apiece and Joe Nowak added 14 to lead Woodmore to a 74-61 victory over Eastwood last night.

Woodmore opened with a 22-4 advantage after one quarter, and held off Eastwood at the foul line.

The Wildcats made 24 of 32 foul shots - Rosenberger 6 of 8, Speaker 5 of 6 and Nowak 5 of 6 - to Eastwood's 9 of 16.

Kevin Leady, who hit four treys, led Eastwood with 27 points, Corey Weiland added 12 and Andy Stickel had 10. Leady scored 17 points in the fourth quarterwhen Eastwood outscored Woodmore 32-21.

Woodmore hit 23 of 35 field goal attempts to Eastwood's 22 of 49, with Eastwood hitting 8 of 16 treys to the Wildcats' 4 of 7.

Woodmore outrebounded Eastwood 21-16.

The Wildcats' Rosenberger had six asists and six rebounds to go with his 19 points.

Gibsonburg 69, Otsego 67

GIBSONBURG - Drew Williamson, back in the lineup for the first time since suffering an injury, and Nathan Kirwen each scored 14 points as Gibsonburg (3-1, 2-0) rallied in the fourth quarter, despite a game-high 36 points from Otsego's Casey Donald.

Trailing 34-31 at half, Otsego (2-1, 1-1) hit the Golden Bears with a 23-13 third quarter. But with Williamson scoring seven points and Kirwen six in the fourth, the Bears returned the favor with a 22-13 quarter and hung on for the win.

Donald was 10 of 11 at the line, but Gibsonburg's edge in 3-pointers (7-5) was the difference in the game.

Elmwood 58, Genoa 46

GENOA - Chad Reynolds scored 21 points and Dustin Reynolds and Andrew Marsh added 14 apiece to pace Elmwood (3-1, 2-0).

Cory Haeft paced Genoa (1-3, 0-2) with 14 points and Kyle Vonck added 10.

The Comets led 12-7 after one quarter and 26-19 at the half, but Elmwood got in gear for a 22-7 advantage in the third quarter and went on to victory.

Lake 67, Lakota 55

MILLBURY - Tyler Steedman scored 18 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to pace Lake.

Matt Rollins added 14 points and Rocky Garcia had 11.

Trever Hohman paced Lakota with 18 points, Ron Diaz added 12 and Mark Kaser 11.

Lake (1-3, 1-1) connected on 20 of 31 foul shots while Lakota (1-2, 0-2) hit 8 of 17.
