BOWLING GREEN - Aaron Waldie hit a jumper with 2.5 seconds to play as Southview handed Bowling Green its first Northern Lakes League loss, 52-51 last night.

Alex Merrell tossed in 20 points, all from the field, and Darrick Holloway added 11 for the Cougars (5-7, 3-5), who tallied 25 points in the second quarter to pull within three, 36-33, then held the Bobcats to 15 in the second half.

Moe Al-Jiboury and Loudan Hammersmith tallied 13 points apiece and Ryan Hoehner added 11 for Bowling Green (10-3, 7-1). The Bobcats jumped to a 21-8 lead after the first quarter but couldn't connect on a last-second shot.

Perrysburg 63,

Rossford 43

Scott Perkins sparked Perrysburg by exploding for 23 points against the Bulldogs (2-10, 0-8).

Tyler Winkleman followed up with 16 points and seven rebounds for the Yellow Jackets (9-3, 7-1), who are now tied with Bowling Green for the league lead.

Kevin Cox led visiting Rossford with 12 points.

The Bulldogs managed to keep the game close going into the fourth quarter, when they hit just two field goals, allowing

Perrysburg to pull away for the win.

Anthony Wayne 66,

Springfield 56

Kris Koval scored 29 points to lead visiting Anthony Wayne.

Koval scored 23 points in the second half.

Brent Papenfus added 12 points for the Generals (6-5, 5-3). Fletcher Noble led Springfield (5-5, 3-5) with 22 points.

Maumee 67,

Northview 49

Lamonte Dawson recorded 22 points and Andy Dybala dropped in 10 as Maumee (7-4, 6-2) knocked off the Wildcats (1-9, 1-6).

Matt Wade paced visiting Northview with 17 points.
