Northview, Start girls win easily

Northview and Start romped to easy victories last night in girls Division I sectional basketball games at Central Catholic.

Northview (20-1) pounded Rogers 82-23 as 11 players scored with Riana Miller getting 14, Danielle Bly and Ali Wallace 13 each and Lisa Johnson 10.

Alisia Brewer led Rogers with nine.

Start (15-4) defeated Libbey 62-44 with Candace Coleman scoring 27 and Sandi Brown 10.

Libbey, which led 16-8 after one quarter, got 13 from Kimberly Ford.

BOWSHER 44, WHITMER 39

Stephany Johnson scored 16 and Dominique Gregory added 11 for Bowsher (14-4) at Clay.

Michelle Clayton and Lindsay Teal scored 11 apiece for Whitmer (4-16).

Bowsher took control with a 13-4 advantage in the second quarter.

NOTRE DAME 53,

SPRINGFIELD 35

Becca Smith and Heather Wiczynski scored 15 apiece and Mallory Meyers added 11 for Notre Dame (16-4) at Clay.

Kate Helminiak led Springfield (11-10) with 11.

Notre Dame led 27-9 at halftime.

BASCOM - Tia Simms led Fremont Ross with 25 points.

NAPOLEON 57, LAKE 37

SWANTON - Amberly Conklin scored 17 and Kristen Gilgenbach added 12 for Napoleon, which led 20-7 after one quarter.

Sara Recny paced Lake with 11.

BRYAN 48, WAUSEON 45

SWANTON - Jessie Fee scored 12, Julie Tucker had 10 and Bryan outscored Wauseon 12-9 in overtime with eight points coming at the foul line after scoring just one in regulation.

Paige Hughes paced Wauseon with 13 and Katie Hill had 11.

OLD FORT - Port Clinton got 14 from Whitney Siehl, 13 from Mari Monaco and 10 from Lindsay Tisza.

Alexa Nasonti led Bellevue with 12.

OLD FORT - Cierra Bravard led Sandusky Perkins with 21 points.

COLUMBIAN 40, SHELBY 28

BUCYRUS - Amber Collins scored 11 and Julie Sellers 10 for Tiffin Columbian, which sealed the deal with a 15-4 fourth-quarter advantage.

WOODMORE 64, GENOA 59

PEMBERVILLE - Woodmore placed four in double figures as Megan Abbey had 20, Casza Rhodes 17, Brittany Perkins 11 and Danielle Lowry 10 at Eastwood. Genoa had three - Abbey Kontak 21, Brittany Darling 20 and Mallory Imbery 12.

EVERGREEN 42, DELTA 40

LIBERTY CENTER - Haley Keller hit a 17-footer off an in-bounds play with four seconds left Tuesday night to give Evergreen its first sectional victory since 1984.

Megan Bates had 14 points and Crystal Skeldon 12 for the Vikings (12-9).

Martha Simon led Delta (5-16) with 13 points.

BOWLING GREEN - Lindsay Hill scored 11 and Julie Beaschler and Ann Clark had 10 apiece for Gibsonburg.

Mariana Brandman led Maumee Valley with nine.

BOWLING GREEN - Tami Duvall led Toledo Christian with 16 and Emily Cellier had 13.

Jessie Figy led Ottawa Hills with 10.

Brett McDougle scored 14 and Wes Taylor 11 for visiting Clay. Mack Wortham led Waite with 14.

FINDLAY - Brook Crawford and Nathan Hyde scored 19 apiece for Liberty-Benton, which went 14-of-14 from the foul line, while Ryan Kommick had 26 for Calvert, which hit 19 of 21 from the line.
