GIBSONBURG - Elmwood had to battle to the end in a 60-56 victory over Gibsonburg last night, but the Royals (15-5, 12-2) came away with a share of the Suburban Lakes League title with Woodmore.

The Golden Bears cut the Elmwood lead to 45-43 early in the fourth quarter but couldn't get closer than four points the rest of the way.

Gibsonburg (13-7, 9-5) put the Royals at the foul line 19 times in the fourth quarter, staying in the game because Elmwood only made eight.

Elmwood, playing without an injured Chad Reynolds, shot 45 percent on 2-point attempts (15-of-33) and 60 percent on 3-pointers (3-5).

Eric Wansitler led the Royals with 22 points, while Dustin Reynolds and Andrew Marsh added 12 each.

Marcus Ahle and Drew Williamson scored 15 points apiece for the Bears, with Derek Wasserman contributing 12.

Woodmore 62,

Lakota 41

ELMORE - Tyler Rosenberger displayed his overall talents in his final regular-season game for co-champion Woodmore, scoring 23 points, pulling down 10 rebounds and distributing 8 assists.

Derek Speaker added 14 points and Brennan Lowery 10 for the Wildcats (14-6, 11-3).

Both teams shot well on 2-point attempts, with Woodmore hitting 16-of-32 and Lakota 15-of-29, but the Wildcats made 9-of-24 3-pointers to Lakota's 1-of-4. Woodmore only made 3-of-11 free throw attempts.

Trever Hohman tallied 13 points and Devon Black 12 for Lakota (4-16, 1-13).

Eastwood 60,

Otsego 50

TONTOGANY - David Kuhlman hit all four of his 3-pointers in the second quarter as the Eagles outscored the Knights 22-15 for a 30-21 lead.

Kuhlman led Eastwood (10-10, 7-7) with 12 points and Trent Rahe added 10. The Eagles hit eight 3-pointers and were 23-of-56 from the field.

Jordan Murphy scored 15 points and Trevor Meyers had 10 for Otsego (12-8, 9-5), which shot 18-of-59.

Genoa 58, Lake 50

MILLBURY - Genoa played a steady four quarters and Lake fell short despite a 31-point fourth-quarter surge.

Corey Hornyak topped Genoa (5-15, 3-11) with 16 points.

Lake (6-14, 3-11) was led by Andy Zartman and Rocky Garcia with 15 points apiece and Matt Rollins with 14.
