TAAC: Crozier scores 3 TDs in Stritch win

Kent Crozier was the difference-maker, scoring three touchdowns as Cardinal Stritch bested Toledo Christian 28-10.

Crozier hauled in a nine-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Hank Taylor and scored on runs of 17 and 36 yards. Mike Ameling caught a 49-yard TD pass from Taylor for the Cardinals (4-2, 2-1).

Derek Arnold's one-yard touchdown run and Ryan Mathewson's 39-yard field accounted for the scoring for the Eagles (2-4, 0-2).

Stritch picked up 156 yards on the ground and 115 in the air to Toledo Christian's 76 and 75.

Northwood 20,

Hilltop 14

Don Klenke carried 21 times for 132 yards and two touchdowns as Northwood remained undefeated in the TAAC.

Klenke scored on runs of 3 and 1 yards in the first half as Northwood (2-4, 2-0) jumped out to a 20-0 lead.

Caleb Westphal ran five yards for a touchdown and hooked up with Andrew Gochenhour on a 38-yard pass for another score in the second half for Hilltop (4-2, 2-1).

Northwood rushed for 212 yards and held Hilltop to 77. Northwood held Logan Schaffner, the league's leading rusher, to 38 yards on 16 carries.

Danbury 51, Edon 50

LAKESIDE - Danbury scored 30 points in the fourth quarter while limiting Edon to eight to pull off the comeback victory.

The win came on a 26-yard field goal by David Clemons with 2:14 left in the game.

Clemons also caught a 70-yard scoring pass from Brandon Portales in the fourth quarter and earlier grabbed TD passes good for 63 and 68 yards.

Joe Griffin hauled in four TD passes for Danbury (2-4, 1-2) - good for 17, 13, 14 and 7 yards.

And while Danbury was piling up 681 passing yards, Edon ran for 532.

Matt Smith gained 180 yards on just seven carries and Jody Hug had 91 on 14 carries.

Danbury added 40 yards rushing while Edon had 30 passing.
