City: Enos leads Knights by Clay

With the exception of the second quarter, St. Francis dominated on all fronts as the Knights (6-4, 6-1) toppled Clay 29-10 last night in City League action.

Cody Enos was the offensive standout for the Knights, rolling up 215 rushing yards on 33 carries, including touchdown runs of 5 and 50 yards.

St. Francis outgained the Eagles (4-6, 3-4) 345 yards to 78 on the ground.

Tom Joseph and Aaron Lewandowski also had rushing scores for the Knights.

The Eagles lone touchdown came in the second quarter, when A.J. Achter threw his only pass of the game to Patrick Martin for an 80-yard score.

Clay s Aaron Kovacs made 22 tackles.

Start 34, Whitmer 26

Sophomore quarterback Brad Leestma hit 14 of 22 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns to pace Start (2-8, 2-6).

Leestma hit Sherrod Thompson for 72 yards and Mike Lucas for 18 and also scored on a one-yard run.

Jeno DeLuca gained 120 yards on 17 carries and scored on a 68-yard run.

Start also scored on a 33-yard run from Quinton Stewart.

Donnie Dottei led Whitmer (2-8, 2-5) with three touchdown passes to Kevin Koger for 7, 32 and 48 yards and also scored on a three-yard run.
