NLL: Lanning s FG lifts Southview to share of title

Kevin Lanning kicked a 27-yard field goal with six seconds left to lift Southview to a share of the Northern Lakes League championship with a 31-28 victory over Perrysburg.

The visiting Yellow Jackets had tied the score at 28 in the fourth quarter on Ronnie Tisdale s 100-yard interception return, only to have the Cougars drive 62 yards in the last six minutes to win it.

Perrysburg had taken the early lead when Ore Fatinikun broke off two long touchdown runs (63 and 80 yards) for a 14-0 lead.

The Cougars (8-2, 6-1 NLL) clawed back with three straight TDs, including two by Kwesi Kankam on runs of 6 and 84 yards, and the teams traded TDs until Lanning ended it.

Grant Thomas scored for Southview, Tisdale tallied for the Yellow Jackets (3-7, 3-4) to knot it at 21, Scott Stansley went one yard to put the Cougars on top again, and Southview was moving toward a clincher when Tisdale went the length of the field for his tying TD.

Kankam carried 18 times for 200 of Southview s 338 rushing yards. Fatinikun ran the ball nine times for 157 of Perrysburg s 289 rushing yards.

Northview 45,Bowling Green 26

BOWLING GREEN Northview won a share of the NLL title as Casey Meridieth scored on runs of 3, 4, 3 and 9 yards.

Eric Suttie opened the game for the Wildcats (8-2, 6-1) with an 80-yard kick return for a score and also scored on a 30-yard run. Mike

Biniecki added a 25-yard field goal.

Brandon Radabaugh tossed four TD passes for Bowling Green (3-7, 2-5), hitting Moe Al-Jilboury for 61 and 13, and Thomas Rodriguez for 16 and 17 yards.

Rossford 35,Springfield 6

Visiting Rossford pulled away after leading just 7-0 at halftime.

Tyler Kleeberger paced the Bulldogs (7-3, 5-2) by hitting 11 of 20 passes for 228 yards with TD tosses of three yards to Justin Wagner and 54 to Ryan Weigand.

Kleeberger also scored on a one-yard run and Kurt Keller opened the Rossford scoring with a seven-yard TD run.

James Stroope scored for Springfield (2-8, 1-6) on a one-yard run and Montral Hayes gained 67 yards on 13 carries for the Blue Devils.

Rossford totaled 113 yards rushing. Springfield ran for 177.

Anthony Wayne 49,Maumee 0

Brock Sherman ran nine times for 81 yards and two first-quarter touchdowns as the Generals jumped to a 21-0 lead in the first 12 minutes en route to a romp.

Anthony Wayne (6-4, 4-3) compiled 259 yards rushing and Alex Keyer completed 5 of 9 passes for 106 yards and a touchdown, a 43-yard connection with Jon Holmberg.

Maumee (2-8, 1-6) rushed 20 times for just 12 yards and added 100 through the air but committed four turnovers.

Sherman scored on 19 and 18-yard runs, Andy Whewell had a six-yard TD run, and Tyler Rahn, Adam Brentlinger and Justin

Gerhardinger added TD runs of 3, 1 and 5 yards, respectively.

Rahn totaled 62 yards on 11 totes.
