Liberty-Benton rolls past Crestview; Clyde, Sand Creek win

FINDLAY - Liberty-Benton rolled up 303 yards rushing, en route to a 37-6 win over Convoy Crestview last night in a Division V football playoff game.

Wyatt Elbin ran for 140 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries for the Eagles (10-1).

Elbin completed 5 of 10 passes for 110 yards and a TD to

Michael Busch.

Luke Wentz posted 112 yards on nine attempts with touchdown runs of 65 and 14 yards.

Brandon Craft added a 20-yard TD run.

Jeff Fetters scored on a 24-yard pass from Ben Shindeldecker in the third quarter for Convoy Crestview (9-2).

Clyde 22,

Tippecanoe 20

CLYDE - Clyde's Matt Guhn rushed for 177 yards on 25 carries, including two touchdowns.

Eric Schwartz added a five-yard touchdown run for Clyde (10-1).

Tipp City Tippecanoe (7-4) had a chance to tie the game in the final minute, but was unable to convert a two-point conversion.

Jerry Phillips kicked a 22-yard field goal for the Fliers, who play next against Dayton Chaminade-Julienne.

Red Devils quarterback David Strawser threw for 317 yards and two scores - two 50-yard TD passes to Nick Landis, who had five catches for 147 yards.

Sand Creek 34,

Grass Lake 20

SAND CREEK, Mich. - Sand Creek dominated the ground game and held off a late Grass Lake rally to take home a Michigan Division 7 regional playoff victory.

The Aggies (10-1) piled up 462 rushing yards on 55 carries, while holding the Warriors (8-3) to just 31 yards on 17 carries.

Andrew Pickford led Sand Creek's charge with 162 yards on 21 attempts. Aggies quarterback Matt Evans completed 3 of 9 passes for 26 yards, and was intercepted twice.

Cole Bice, who had 106 yards on 16 carries, started off the Sand Creek scoring with a three-yard TD run early in the first quarter.

Warriors quarterback Austin Cole answered with a 10-yard pass to Brad Rogan, but the

extra-point kick failed.

Pickford scored on runs of four and 25 yards in the second and third quarters, respectively. Sand Creek extended its lead to 34-6 in the fourth quarter after Jeremy Pickford's three-yard run and Dale Goldsmith's 24-yard run.

Cole marched Grass Lake down the field for his second TD pass with less than two minutes left in the game. The Warriors recovered the ensuing onside kick.

Cole hit Rogan for a 42-yard score. Cole finished 16-of-36 passing for 240 yards.

Sand Creek plays at Homer in the next round.
