Boys basketball: Meinert scores 21 as Knights go to 5-0

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - Nick Meinert scored 21 points as St. Francis de Sales stayed unbeaten in boys basketball with an 85-64 victory over Finneytown (6-2) in the Middletown Classic.

Chris Wyse added 13 points and Darryl Roberts and Marlon Price had nine points apiece for the 5-0 Knights.

St. Francis squares off against Middletown tonight for the tournament title.

BOWLING GREEN 58

INDIANAPOLIS - Ryan Hoehner scored 21 points and Brandon Radabaugh and Blaise Markey had 13 apiece but the Bobcats fell to an Indiana team in the holiday tournament.

Markey was injured during the game and taken to a local hospital for stitches.

CENTRAL CATHOLIC 65

OLMSTED FALLS, Ohio - Sam Bastian scored 19 points but Central Catholic dropped a holiday tournament decision to Shaker Heights.

REDFORD 62, LIBBEY 59

CANTON - Detroit Redford (6-1) outscored Libbey 26-18 in the fourth quarter and got 23 points from Corperrayle Harris.

William Buford led Libbey (3-5) with 28 points and 13 rebounds. Phillip Pearson added 11 points.

LONG ISLAND, N.Y. - Grant Maxey scored 15, Kyle Lightner 14 and Terry Sandridge 11, but Scott fell to a local team in the Longwood Rim Rocker.

Brad Zarembski scored 25 points to lead Springfield (3-3) in the Warrior Classic and Fletcher Noble added 22. Jordan Bollin and Justin Osentoski paced Bedford with 14 points apiece and Andy Intagliate contributed 13.

Travis Rombach scored 14 and Nate Seevers, Mitch Frazier and Josh Dupree had 10 apiece for Whiteford in the Warrior Classic.

Seth Flamm and Mike Noss had 11 each and Walker Behan 10 for Emmanuel Baptist.

FAYETTE - Jason Turner paced Delta in the Fayette Holiday Tournament with 12 points.

FAYETTE 57, SWANTON 35

FAYETTE - Fayette opened with a win in its holiday tournament as Heath Armstrong scored 18, Gahlon Kunkle 14 and Matt Kovar 10.

Brad Betz and Beau LaVigne scored 10 apiece for Swanton.

TINORA 32, WAUSEON 30

DEFIANCE - Tinora won a defensive battle in the Buffalo Wild Wings Classic at Defiance College as Kyle Weber scored nine points. Wauseon got nine from Ray Martinez.

DEFIANCE - Points were scarce in the other Wild Wings opener. Lee and Logan Brubaker led Holgate with 12 points apiece. Andrew Pinkeleman had a dozen for Evergreen.
