Boys basketball: Maxey scores 23 in Scott victory

Grant Maxey scored 23 points to lead Scott to a 73-47 victory over Lima Senior last night in boys basketball.

Kyle Lightner added 18 points and Marcus Outlaw had 11 for the 15-1 Bulldogs.

Dathan Lyles led visiting Lima Senior (8-8) with 19 points.

ST. JOHN'S 79, WAITE 62

Jonathan Dunn scored 30 points, including 10 in the third quarter when the Titans outscored the visiting Indians 25-15.

Kyle Jazwiecki added 10 points for 14-2 St. John's Jesuit.

Mark Wortham led Waite with 20 points, Troy Murphy added 13 and Brent Meredith had 12.

Chris Wilson led visiting Start with 16 points and Robert Lonas added 10.

Sam Bastien led Central Catholic with 15.

The Spartans led 24-16 at the half after a 14-3 second-quarter advantage.

Adam Gries led the visiting Little Giants (15-3) with 12 points, including their only successful free throws (six).

Ross hit 6 of 7 overall.

Deron Williams scored 20 points for the Rams.

Lamonte Dawson scored 23 points and Kipp Dawson added 11 for Maumee, which pulled away with a 21-6 second-quarter advantage.

Blaise Markey hit consecutive 3-pointers midway through the fourth quarter to put visiting Bowling Green (12-5, 10-1 NLL) in the lead.

Ryan Hoehner led the Bobcats with 16 points, Moe Al-Jiboury had 13 and Jordan Fortney 10.

Sam Myers and Derek Andrzejczak scored 13 each for Northview (6-10, 4-7).

Shaun Joplin led Southview with 20 points. Tim Hausfeld added 17 and Leon Dehaby had 15.

Josh Dittman, who hit five 3-pointers, led Anthony Wayne with 22 points. Andrew Riley scored 13 and Brent Papenfuss had 10.

WAUSEON 66, EASTWOOD 49

WAUSEON - Chris Villalovos tossed in 31 points while Elliott Mealer added 13 and Ray Martinez 11 for the Indians (11-4).

Corey Weiland paced Eastwood (4-11) with 15 points, followed by Trent Rahe's 11.

NEW RIEGEL - Travis Kinn had 18 points and 13 rebounds for New Riegel (14-2).

Brandon Bouillon added 14 points and Travis Nye had 13.
