Bowling Green girls in state 3200; St. Francis boys qualify

AMHERST, Ohio The Bowling Green girls 3200-meter relay squad took first place with a time of 9:27.53 Wednesday night in the Division I regional meet at Amherst Steele High School, and the St. Francis de Sales 3200 relay squad also qualified for next week s state meet in Columbus by placing second (7:49.48) in the boys relay final. The top four fi nishers (individuals or relay teams) in regional competition

advance to state.

In other individual boys events completed Wednesday in Amherst, Derrick

Canales of St. Francis won the long jump with an effort of 22-8 and Jeremy Jones of Whitmer placed third; Judd Lutz of Tiffin Columbian and Chase Siadecki of Anthony Wayne placed 1-2 at 164-3 and 161-10, respectively; Derek Hopkins of Whitmer

cleared 14-6 to fi nish second in the pole vault.

In regional girls competition Wednesday, Lisa Johnson of Northview (5-4) and Runa Lucienne of St. Ursula Academy (5-2) placed 1-2 in the high jump, and Bahiyjaui Allen of Southview (39-5) and Marissa Chlebowski of Anthony Wayne (38-5 ) fi nished fi rst and third, respectively, in the shot put.

The remainder of the D-I regional meet in Amherst will be completed this afternoon beginning at 4.
