Unbeaten Oak Harbor thrashes Perkins

OAK HARBOR - Oak Harbor coasted in a battle of Sandusky Bay Conference unbeatens, blasting Sandusky Perkins 33-7 last night.

The Rockets (6-0, 3-0 SBC) were paced by Jake Lipstraw, who rushed for 116 yards on 21 carries and scored two touchdowns.

Oak Harbor scored twice in the second quarter - a seven-yard run by Matt Bloomer and a four-yard run by Lipstraw - and led 13-0 at half.

Aaron McCune returned the second-half kickoff 90 yards for a TD to lift the Rockets to a 20-0 lead. Lipstraw added a TD on a one-yard plunge with 7:33 left in the third quarter.

Adam Groff tossed a 13-yard touchdown pass to Tom Laderach in the fourth quarter for the Rockets.

Perkins scored (5-1, 2-1) with 1:02 left in the game on a 15-yard pass from Dawson Taylor to Tyler Dix.

The Rockets had 156 yards rushing and 58 passing. The Pirates finished with 43 rushing and 47 passing.
