LaVigne leads Swanton, tops 1,000 career points

Abby LaVigne scored 19 points to lead visiting Swanton past Maumee 45-40 last night in girls basketball and surpassed the 1,000-point mark for her career.

LaVigne has scored 1,018 points.

Tiffany Willson added 15 for the Bulldogs (2-0).

Lindsay Diegel led Maumee (2-1) with 23 points, 17 of them in the second half.

NOTRE DAME 57, PERRYSBURG 41

Patrice Lalor scored 12 to lead Notre Dame (2-0). Makenzie Strall added 10.

Nicole Parrish paced Perrysburg (1-2) with 16 points.

NORTHWOOD 32, WOODWARD 31

Northwood went on an 18-3 run in the second half to pull out the victory.

Lauren Porter scored on a layup with eight seconds left in the game to cap off the rally.

Marissa Reighard and Maddie Clark scored 10 points each for the Rangers.

Laquel Frazier led Woodward with 10.

DEFIANCE 62, BOWSHER 55

DEFIANCE Ashley Jackson ignited Defiance with 21 points. DeeDee Hillman added 13, Marissa McDonald 12 and Brenna Schrag 10.

Tiara Roberts led Bowsher with 17. Stephany Johnson tallied 13 and Tiffani Blackman 11.

HOPEWELL-LOUDON 36, ARCADIA 27

ARCADIA Courtney Ritzler scored 22 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Hopewell-Loudon in a defensive struggle.

Ritzler also had four steals to help the Chieftains (3-0) force 21 turnovers.

Arcadia, led by Courtney Stahl s eight points, falls to 0-1.

OAK HARBOR 64, SANDUSKY ST. MARY 39

SANDUSKY Oak Harbor had 11 players score, led by Katie Oberhaus with 15 points. Erica Lipstraw added 12 points.

Olivia Kromer and Catherine Spisak led St. Mary with seven each.

HOLGATE 52, MILLER CITY 34

MILLER CITY Holgate raced out to a 22-5 lead after the first quarter and then coasted to improve its record to 4-0.

Liza Clady led the way with 17 points and seven rebounds. Beth Giesige added 11 points for the Tigers, who turned the ball over just nine times to Miller City s 22.

Carrie Griggs scored 12 points to lead Miller City.

EMMANUEL CHRISTIAN 46, MONCLOVA CHRISTIAN 21

Emmanuel Christian jumped out to an early 15-4 lead after one quarter.

Maddison Fillmore and Emily Loomis each scored 12 points for the Warriors (2-0). Summer Anagnostu added 11 points.

Monclova s Sarah Clark scored 11.

DANBURY 79, OLD FORT 62

LAKESIDE Stefini Kosa and Megan Twarek combined for 46 points and Danbury had torrid quarters to end each half.

Kosa scored 24 points and Twarek 22 for the Lakers. Erin Steinbrick added 11 points for Danbury (1-2).

Old Fort (1-3) was led by Shannon Nye s 24 points.
