City: St. Ursula tops Scott 55-27

St. Ursula used a 17-4 second-quarter advantage to break away for a 55-27 girls City League basketball victory over Scott last night.

The Arrows improved to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in the league.

Everybody got in the scoring column for St. Ursula, paced by Courtney Durbin with 10 points. Taylor Leach, Alex Smith and Alison Schloz each had nine.

The Arrows held a 33-18 rebound edge and converted 19 of 32 free throws to 6 of 10 for the Bulldogs.

Porchea King led Scott (2-3, 1-2) with seven points.

Amanda Watson scored 15 points and Mollie Berry had 10 for Clay (3-3, 2-0).

Stephanie Morris scored 15 for winless Libbey.

Clay hit 18 of 28 free throws while Libbey hit 2 of 9, however, Libbey connected on seven 3-pointers - Morris had four - to Clay's two.

Sophomore forward Laura Campbell paced the Panthers (2-5, 2-1) with 20 points and 13 rebounds. Brianna Nagy pitched in with 7 points and 11 rebounds.

The Eagles soared as Jasmine Blanton tallied 16 points, Patrice Lalor 12 and Kasey Fought and Jasmine Webb 10 each.

LaQuarrie Parnell produced 10 points for the Rams.
