SLL GIRLS: Otsego uses big 2nd quarter to get past Eastwood 56-52

TONTOGANY - Otsego outscored Eastwood 20-3 in the second quarter on the way to a 56-52 victory at home in Suburban Lakes League girls action.

Alysha Gruelich scored 20 points to lead Otsego. Emily Schwab added 11 points for the Knights. Amanda Haws and Megan McCracken scored 14 points apiece for Eastwood.

Genoa 79,

Lake 39

MILLBURY - Genoa's Brittany Darling led all scorers with 27 points as the Comets handily defeated Lake.

Genoa built a 66-27 lead heading into the final quarter.

Simone Eli added 19 points for Genoa. The Flyers were led by Jennifer LaPlante and Lauren Lind, who each tallied seven points.

Gibsonburg 47

Elmwood 44

GIBSONBURG - Gibsonburg rallied late from the free throw line as the Golden Bears knocked off Elmwood.

Gibsonburg was 11-of-13 in the final quarter as it overcame a seven-point deficit.

Ann Clark had 12 points, and Emily Clark had 10 for the Golden Bears (3-4, 2-3). Brooke Morgart led all scorers with 21 points for Elmwood (5-4, 4-1).

Lakota 44,

Woodmore 35

ELMORE - Lakota trailed 22-15 but roared back with a big second half.

Alison Park led the Raiders with 16 points.

Kristen Jacobs topped the Wildcats with eight.
