Boys basketball: Southview's Hausfeld hits 29

Visiting Southview defeated Maumee 83-54 last night in a boys Northern Lakes League basketball game that featured lots of long-distance scoring.

Tim Hausfeld paced the Cougars (5-0, 5-0) with 29 points, including five 3-pointers. Andy Borcherdt added 18 and he hit four 3-pointers. Josh Craig scored 14 for Southview.

Maumee (1-6, 0-5) got 19 points from Josh Eckert, who hit five 3-pointers. Anthony Dybala added 11 points and Coty Di-Salle had 10.

Southview hit nine 3-pointers and Maumee had six.

PERRYSBURG 77,

SPRINGFIELD 48

Charlie Hughes scored 21 points, Neal Linthicum added 15, Thomas Salmon 13 and David Hieber 12 for Perrysburg (8-0, 5-0 NLL), which jumped to a 25-10 lead after one quarter.

Tyler Liber paced Springfield with 12 points and Jack Leasure added 10.

ANTHONY WAYNE 69,

BOWLING GREEN 53

Kyle Jazwiecki poured in a game-high 20 points and Cameron Walton added 18 for the Generals, who coasted to the home win.

Mike Mangotic and Tyler Launder each scored 10 points for AW (2-5, 2-3).

Bowling Green (3-3, 2-3) was paced by Chauncey Orr (12 points and six rebounds) and Conner Kilpatrick (11 points and seven boards).

The Bulldogs were paced by Zach Leahy's 13 points and Rico Ross' 11 points.

Ryan Yockey led all scorers with 19 points and Reeves Northrup added 11 for the Wildcats.

Antwan Willis scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds to pace 4-0 Whitmer. Ryne Smith added 16 points.

Ryan Croudup-Levario led visiting Fremont Ross with 21.

MILLER CITY 90,

MILLER CITY - Cody Doster scored 20 points, Cody Vennekotter added 17 and Mitch Wenzinger and Kyle Niese added 10 apiece for Miller City.

Jordon Burdue hit four 3-pointers and scored 20 for Delta. Patrick Brown added 13 and Jarrod Maneval and Danny Irving scored 10 each.

MONTPELIER - North Central won its first game of the year against six losses behind 20 points from Derick Wyrick.

Lane Reese led Montpelier (1-5) with 15.

MAUMEE VALLEY 70,

The Eagles jumped out to a 20-9 lead after one quarter, but the Hawks outscored them 43-20 over the next two quarters.

Shawn Hassen had a double-double for Maumee Valley (17 points and 11 rebounds). Carter Bayer scored 18 points, dished out seven assists and had seven steals for the Hawks. Jangus Whitner added 16 points for Maumee Valley (2-5)

Fayette (2-4) was led by Cory Griffiths' 14 points, Jason Rodriguez had 12 and Evan Hibbard 11.

NORTHWOOD 61,

Ryan Canaday netted 15 points and Ronnie Cook 11 as Northwood outscored visiting Old Fort in every quarter.

Ethan Barker had 11 for the Stockaders.

TIFFIN - Four players scored in double figures for the 4-1 Tornadoes. Jared Kuhlman scored 15, Derek Kneeskern 14, Ethan Kagy 12 and Matt Bowen 11.

Jordan McCloud paced Monclova Christian with 21 points and Justin Hamaker had 15. Rueben Brown paced NOCHE with 14.

DEXTER 52, BEDFORD 39

DEXTER, Mich. - Dave Pisano paced Dexter with 17 points. Ricky Rightnowar and Joe Martin scored nine apiece for Bedford.

OTTAWA LAKE. Mich. - Josh DuPree scored 26 points to pace the 3-0 Bobcats. Dave Gust added 15 points, Cody McCartney had 10 points and 16 rebounds, and Joel Bunge scored 10.

Aaron Hudson led Blissfield with 19 points.
